At five-years-old, I had my first introduction to the spot light when I walked down the run way with my cousin in a fashion show. I guess there was no turning back from there.
My passion for taking the stage also has its roots as the daughter of a teacher who always encouraged me to excel in all my interests. My mother would come home from teaching her sixth grade students with wonderful stories of how she was able to make a difference for them. She passed that on to me and now I pay it forward every chance I can.
I’ve always been goal focused and bring that attention to detail and results to the work I do with my clients. In fact, you can read more about how I started my business in this article, It’s All About Goals, published in the Asbury Park Press.
I have spoken at association meetings, conferences and networking groups giving tips, tricks and tools to getting results. As a workshop and seminar facilitator, my interactive sessions encourage and engage participants in the learning process to instill new skills and techniques for success.
Before starting my business in 2008, I worked at executive levels in marketing communications and training at corporate, government, education, professional services and non-profit organizations. I developed and implemented strategic marketing/business development and social media plans; facilitated focus groups, strategic planning sessions and staff skill development sessions; managed the national launch of an awareness building and learning campaign for the United States Department of Labor; and oversaw the launch of three technology-based international products.
I have been a consultant to the Monmouth Ocean Small Business Development Center (MOSBDC) since 2010, teaching social media classes and providing one-on-one counseling to hundreds of small business owners. This has given me invaluable insight to the needs and challenges that small business owners face in an increasing competitive and global landscape.
On October 29, 2012, the Jersey Shore, where I call home, was devastated by Super Storm Sandy. The Federal government provided the MOSBDC with additional funding to help the small businesses recover and rebuild from this disaster, and I am a member of the team of consultants that offer targeted services to get them on the road to recovery.
